The Home Page - Submission Guidelines

For All Submissions

All submissions must be sent to the site owner, ami-padme, for review and approval. There are two ways to contact me:

Members of The Home Page Forums can use the private message system.

I will do my best to acknowledge submissions upon receipt.

I review all submissions to determine whether I will archive/use them on this website. I reserve the right to accept/reject submissions for any reason(s) I deem appropriate, including and beyond the guidelines listed here. Once I have made a decision, I will inform the submitter of it.

I will archive/add accepted submissions as soon as possible.

Submitters should feel free to contact me if there's a lag in the process -- if more than a week passes between submission and acknowledgement, between acknowledgement and the acceptance/rejection decision, between acceptance and archiving, etc.

Fan Fiction (back to Fan Fiction)

This section is for stories and poems of nearly any style, type, and length.

Fiction should be sent as email attachments, as Word .doc or .html files. .txt files are acceptable, but not preferred. Please do not send stories/poems in regular email text, or as a private message. Also, links to fiction, if it is published elsewhere on the web, can be sent to me via email or private message. If you need to submit to me in a different way, contact me via email or private message first.

All stories/poems must be rated PG-13 or below.

All fiction should be thoroughly checked for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. by the author before submission. Submissions that need mulptiple corrections in these areas will not be accepted.

I strongly prefer finished stories. In-progress stories can be submitted, but are unlikely to be accepted.

Humor/Parody fics can be submitted, but are unlikely to be accepted.

All stories/poems must exclusively or very prominently feature Anakin Skywalker.

Please note that this is different from Darth Vader-focused fan fiction, which is not accepted

for archiving here.

While this rule causes the Fan Fiction section to skew heavily in favor of the prequel-era,

there is no rule about timelines. I've archived Anakin-focused stories that are set

during the pre-The Phantom Menace era, the Original Trilogy, and the post-Return of the

Jedi era.

Stories/Poems do not have to be "Anakin-only" -- I am open to many kinds of Anakin/Padmé

romance stories, Anakin/Obi-Wan Jedi stories, etc., etc.

Fiction cannot oppose the general tone of the website.

No Anakin is Evil Incarnate stories. No Devil's Triangle. Nothing along those lines.

No stories that change Star Wars canon, rendering the characters/universe unrecognizable.

While Alternate Universe stories are certainly welcome here, I believe that some stories

generously labeled as AUs are essentially unrelated to Star Wars or its characters in

anything other than names. Those types of fics will not be accepted.

Final decisions about whether a story meets this criteria are mine; I am more than happy to discuss any questions, or "gray area" fics, with authors.

Fan Art (back to Fan Art)

This section is for art work -- drawing, paintings, digital works, and almost anything else.

Art works should be sent as email attachments, as .jpg/.jpeg files. .gif files are acceptable, but not preferred. Also, links to art, if it is published elsewhere on the web, can be sent to me via email or private message. If you need to submit to me in a different way, contact me via email or private message first.

All art images must be rated PG-13 or below.

All works should be "polished" -- with fuzzines, pixelation, rough edges, discoloration and the like, minimized.

All art work must exclusively or very prominently feature Anakin Skywalker.

Representations of Anakin at all ages and stages of his life are acceptable.

Combined images of Anakin and Darth Vader are acceptable; "Vader-only" images are not.

Art does not have to be "Anakin-only" -- I accept Anakin/Padmé art, Anakin/Obi-Wan art, etc.

Art work cannot oppose the general tone of the site.

So, don't send any "Anakin-kills-Padmé" pieces to me. ;)

Final decisions about whether an art work meets this criteria are mine; I am happy to discuss any questions, or "gray area" works, with artists.

Essays (back to Essays)

This section is for all kinds of essays -- editorials, critiques, papers, articles -- ranging from the academic to the entertaining.

Essays should be sent as email attachments, as Word .doc or .html files. .txt files are acceptable, but not preferred. Please do not send essays in regular email text, or as a private message. Also, links to essays, if they is published elsewhere on the web, can be sent to me via email or private message. If you need to submit to me in a different way, contact me via email or private message first.

All essays must focus exclusively or largely on the character of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

I prefer essays that aren't focused on Darth Vader only -- though generally essays are less

likely to delineate between the two aspects of the character, in my opinion.

Almost any subject relating to Anakin is acceptable -- about his character, his relationship to

other characters, his place in the plot; comparisons to other characters and stories, to

other literary traditions; personal observations and thoughts about the character, etc.

Essays cannot oppose the general tone of the website.

I don't care how forcefully or elqoquently you argue that Anakin=Satan, I won't archive it. ;)

Final decisions about whether an essay meets this criteria are mine; I am happy to discuss any questions, or "gray area" essays, with writers.
